Dip Dye My Hair Please

Its official.
I'm gonna try to leave my hair long.

BECAUSE I CANT DIP DYE IT IF ITS SHORT. (or rather, its hell difficult to dip dye short hair)

photos credits to their original photographers!

but so far, my friends who dyed their hair, dyed it red, and it turned brown extremely quickly.
and mianbao dip dyed pink, really nice, but it fades off dam fast too! D:
Is there a secret formula to dip dye hair and the colour actually lasts???

I was considering burgundy, but it seems pretty common nowdays eh.
maybe i'll just dye it bluegreen like photographer lenne.

so gorgeous! okay its supposed to be green. maybe i'm colourblind.

oh well, I still have many months to decide the colour (while waiting for my hair to grow out). my fringe grows at a much faster rate than my hair though. roar.

Spruce @ Phoenix Park

Went to Spruce for another birthday dinner last Sunday!

Spruce is located at Phoenix Park, in a quiet corner off Tanglin.

The whole place was quite quiet and deserted.

Spruce offers both outdoor and indoor dining, we sat inside. I would say choose indoor if you want some quiet, chill ambience. Outdoors was pretty noisy as there were large groups of people contributing to the noise level.
Pretty interior and not a single soul except us! muaha!

We first ordered Mac &Cheese ($9) - basically macaroni and cheese! The cheese was awesome.

Look at that cheese. I can barely see the macaroni.

This is Orecchiette served with chopped Sea Prawn in zucchini and garlic cream ($22). Some people might be turned off by green coloured stuff but this is really good. The sauce was, well, garlic-y but it was a good change from the conventional - tomato based/cream based sauces.

and this was mine - Freshly made Pappardelle served with Braised Duck in red wine sauce ($22)
Don't quite fancy this kinda of pasta (reminds me of ban mian) but the sauce had just the right amount of red wine - too good! and I was expecting the duck to come in slices, but it came in.. shreds? Nevertheless the portion of duck was quite generous! Super filling.

Service was alright. We were the only people sitting inside, so the waiter kept refilling out water haha! It was still relatively empty when we left at about 7, maybe because it was a Sunday? Definitely want to go back again! Esp to try their desserts and the famed Spruce burger!

Check out Spruce's opening hours and their brunch/lunch/dinner menus here!

Summer DIY Ideas

I was writing out my summer schedule, and I realised I'm gonna spend about 1 month in total overseas, and another 2 weeks in freshmen camps. Gonna be faci for Bondue camp and Arts camp! woo. The SMU trick is to be completely shameless and thick-skinned. Or rather, its a requirement haha.

As for the remaining scattered weeks here and there, I've decided I'm gonna pick up my crafty scissors once again. Recently there has been a whole lot of crafty fashion ideas lying around on the internet, and I'm gonna attempt some of them muahaha check out my hidden talent.

1. Detachable collars

Blogshops selling all these collars for close to $20 and I'm like SCAMMERS. its just a piece of cloth. Hence I shall make my own. They're so cute, but I highly doubt I'll every wear them out.

2. Tie Dye

Tie-dye is such a complicated process. but I really love the effects, like those above.

3. Knot Fringe

SIMPLE. I like. and gives off the tribal/bohemian feel that is currently in fashion now.

4. Cut out

Cut out designs are IN! and I figured if the cut out designs are simple enough (like triangles) I should just do it on my own.

I have loads of unwanted clothing lying around just nice for experimentation haha!

Le Princesse Gelish Manicure!

So yesterday I went to this little nail parlour in prinsep street to do my nails.
The parlour's called Le Princesse, a quiet little place. The manicurist was pretty friendly and meticulous too!
Anyway it was my first time doing gelish (woes of a poor student) and apparently she had to buff the nail slightly or else the gelish won't stick.

And I love it! its so glossy and shiny. I can never achieve this with my normal nail polishes. It'll just start to chip within a day =.=

Barbie Pink. It didn't look so pinkish from the bottle!

Applied a topcoat of China Glaze White Cap over it since the manicurist said I can remove it and the gloss will still be there heh!

Okay back to studying.

Dinner at Tony Roma's

On Saturday my parents brought me to Tony Roma's for an early birthday dinner!
Havent been there in a long time. Had to queue for about 10-15 mins before we were led in, even though there were empty tables to start with! we speculated that they were trying to create a queue =.=

Free bread & butter

Their mushroom soup! I like to sample mushroom soups from all the restaurants. This was very smooth and rich. But I still prefer the kind of coarsely grated mushroom soup. and I have no idea why they gave meiji biscuits cos it didnt really blend in with the soup/

Ordered this appetizer platter thing, which came with potato skin, chicken wings and cheese sticks! potato skin was topped with loads of cheese and bacon bits. I shall learn to make this soon. & loved the cheese sticks filled with mozzarella cheese~~

Dad ordered this salad thing (i can't remember the name) and boy it was good. chunks of juicy grilled chicken and loads of cheese (blue cheese)!! I rarely eat salads but I could take this one.

and of cos, the main course - St louis ribs with bourbon bbq sauce!
Didn't really like the sauce though, too much onion and garlic, still prefer carolina honey! But their baked potato is TO DIE FOR~ it literally melts in your mouth with butter fragrance. Couldn't get enough of it.

We ordered a full slab and in the end we couldnt even finish it (As always) so we brought the remaining pieces home hahaha.

Maybe I should try their steak in future!

Gmarket Haul

Okay so I admit I have this addiction to gmarket. the stuff sold there are really good and value for money! any fellow gmarket addicts out there? how to stop how to stop.

Placed an order with gmarket and received it sometime in february but only had time to blog about it now haha. woes of a student.
bought quite a few stuff this time, mostly necessities aha so I don't fee guilty
This whole order cost around $200 zomg ok I need to stop.

One of the boxy tops I got from one of my favourite shops in gmarket
only 6900won!
cannot.resist.skulls.

A whole bunch of nail art stuff from here
The nail tips are so pretty! but no idea how to use them lol.

Bought some stuff for formal wear!

Formal blouse for bout $20. but the material is really nice! wore it for presentations this week, so much more interesting than the standard white black formal attire.

And a formal skirt for bout 20+ too! loved the material plus it was cheaper than blogshop prices.
whats with my obsession for blue coloured stuffs haha.

Bought a red swing skirt from the same shop. hope I don't see the same thing in bugis LOL

and not forgetting, dance necessities!

2 new pants cause my current black harems are like about to tear any moment.
Plain black sweats from this store, 8900 won!
Patterned from here, its more cream white-ish

Loving the prints~ and the material is super comfy. awesome buy

and my new pair of shoes! decided that I should get a black based one since my current ones are all white. and the metallic gold was too hard to resist. so far ALL of my dance shoes except for my chucks are from gmarket! I don't believe in paying for those branded ones.
This pair is dam expensive though, close to $60?

also, came across this shop selling coloured contacts for dirt cheap. less than $10? and the seller gave a free contact lens case and 1 bottle of solution. sounds like a scam but its not!
but the thing is I realised it doesn't come with degree, so not much of a point wearing. If anyone wants it just buzz me.

already seeing some new summer designs in my favourite shops and I'm so tempted to get them.... argh.. Which are your favourite shops and what do you buy from gmarket?
